Aishwarya and Akshay Kumar awarded Padma Shree
The 60th year of the Indian republic made Bollywood proud when two leading stars of Bollywood were awarded top civilian honours. Today, the Government of India awarded Padma Shree to Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has popularized Indian cinema across the globe and has given much to Indian entertainment industry and though Akshay Kumar has done mainly commercial cinema yet his success and hits cannot be ignored. To be known that a few days ago, Akshay had been given the popular choice best actor award, which he refused.

Aishwarya Rai to work with Vishal Bhardwaj
It was Vishal Bhardwaj who took out the best from Tabu in ‘Maqbool’ and Kareena Kapoor in ‘Omkara’. Vishal took up direction in 2002 with the children’s film ‘Makdee’ and since then he had always wanted to work with Aishwarya Rai. He was the music composer on a project with her that got shelved.
Finally, Vishal and Ash have teamed up together for a film titled as ‘Timbuctoo’ that Vishal had approached Aishwarya in the past. But that film never materialized.
Talking about the project with Vishal, Aishwarya said “Vishal and I have wanted to work together ever since he was the music composer on a project that got shelved. We had promised one another that I would star in his film whenever he turned director”.
Confirming about the proposed film the actress said “I was very impressed by Vishal’s work. But he insisted that we would work together only when he found absolutely the right project. That has finally happened. Vishal has bounced the script off me. And we both feel this is the right project for us to come together”

Bachchan family on the pink carpet
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s much awaited Hollywood movie, ‘Pink Panther 2’ premiered in the US on Tuesday and the Bachchan family was in full attendance to support their ‘Bahu’ as looking gorgeous in black, she walked the PINK carpet with husband Abhishek. Abhishek complemented his better half in a black suit and sporting a new lok for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’. The couple in black surely made the heads turn.
Pink Panther 2 has Ash playing detective Sonia alongside Alfred Molina, while Steve Martin plays a bumbling French police detective Jacques Clouseau. French actor Jean Reno plays Ponton, Steve Martin’s partner in the movie. Actor, writer and producer Harald Zwart has directed Pink Panther 2.
